Before memories began, Sagan was a special little spot of life, created by the love of two happy parents.

Everyone who meets Sagan says "What a special child!" What is so special about Sagan? Do they think Sagan has superpowers?

When Sagan watches his favorite movie, he wants superpowers just like the movie hero 'super teddy'.

Sagan looks at everyone very carefully and sees that grownups have superpowers but Sagan doesn't feel any superpowers inside.

Sagan's father has superpowers. He makes Sagan's life wonderful with great food, clean clothes, wonderful stories, and bad jokes. He tames sunlight into electricity to keep homes warm and bright.

Mother's superPower is creativity. She loves making beautiful quilts that keep Sagan warm and treats that make Sagan happy. She is a pharmacist helping sick people get well.

Ms. Pat the veterinarian has a superpower. She knows what animals need and she keeps Sagan's dog safe and healthy.

Nurse Rachel's superpower is caring. Nurse Rachel made Sagan feel warm and cared for when Sagan didn't feel good.

Their neighbor Mr. Bill has a superpower. He grows great big tomatoes and sweet strawberries in his garden and gives Sagan fresh fruits and vegetables to eat.

Mr. Jack the bus driver has a superpower. He knows all the streets in the city and makes sure that when Sagan and dad go out to have fun, they arrive safe and sound.

Mr. Zach the grocer's superpower is keeping things organized. Mr. Zach brings food and candy from all over the world to keep Sagan fed and happy.

Ms. Margaret the librarian has a superpower. She knows all the books with good stories and where to find them. She reads Sagan's favorite stories at Story hour.

Sagan hears that all people are born with a superpower but what super power is inside Sagan? the one light that shines brighter than all the rest.

Sagan looks around the bedroom. No superpowers in the closet or under the bed, so Sagan goes outside.

Sagan goes to the playground. Is there a superpower on the swingset? ...NO
Is there a superpower in the sandbox? ...NO

Sagan looks in the backyard. Is there a superpower in the dog house? ...NO
In the playhouse? ...NO

But Bando the dog has superpowers. He can run so fast and play so hard all day and he can jump up in the air and catch a frisbee!

Sagan is upset! Maybe I don't have a superpower, thinks Sagan. But as Sagan grows up Sagan likes finding out how things work and Sagan really likes science.

I do have a superpower thought Sagan. Sagan's superpowers are wisdom and science and Sagan becomes a great astronomer, learning all about the sun, moon and stars.

What will your superpower be?

As you grow up you will find your superpower and it will be wonderful!
